A horrific incident unfolded last night in Jaldobra village, within the jurisdiction of the Khatra police station in Bankura, as a young man stands accused of brutally killing his elderly mother and brother with a sword. Shabal Bauri, the alleged perpetrator, left injuries on his niece, sister-in-law, and sister while they attempted to intervene. The injured individuals have been promptly transported to Khatra sub-district hospital.
Authorities have taken Shabal Bauri into custody. Reports from local sources indicate that the tragic event came to light when neighbors heard loud disturbances at Gopi Bauri's residence. Upon entering the house, they discovered the lifeless bodies of 60-year-old Lakshmi Bauri and her 40-year-old elder son, Debu Bauri. Meanwhile, Debu Bauri's wife, Mangala Bauri, daughter Shikha Bauri, and sister Khashi Bauri sustained severe injuries.
The Khatra police station responded to the neighbors' alert, reaching the scene to recover the bodies and subsequently arresting Gopi Bauri, the younger son of the deceased Lakshmi Bauri, based on the family's complaint.
